Trail Pictures From Last Week

Posted by ED on January 29, 2009 under Blog | Comments are off for this article

Went out riding last week, and am just getting around to getting the images on to the web site. Conditions were great for the 2 rides that I took. Went across the lake on my first ride up to edes falls and around the clubhouse (Muddy River Snoseekers) conditions were really good, smooth the whole way, the lake was a little bumpy but real good overall. The groomers were busy, saw the first one down by sebago cove, they were doing a great job.

The second day I saw Steve and Scott out grooming, got to ride behind them for a short while, they were making the trails real nice. I went down and crossed Peabody Pond and did the small loop back to the main trail, the trails were perfect. From there I went down to the rail beds to Lamprons where the riding was also great. When I crossed 302 heading to Long Lake it started to get bumpy and rough, not to bad on Otter pond. Ran Long Lake back to the main trail, the Lake wasn't too bad, and headed back.

Will be out riding this whole weekend, so I will let you know how it is and take some pictures. Below are some photos I took from the last  2 rides.

A Big Thankyou!

The club owes a big thank you to Jack Epp, Peter Clark, Ken Beck, and Rob Pacey who generously marked the trail for the ride to the Stanley Mission Poker Derby slated for January 31, 2009. Those pine bows will highlight the trail for people who want to participate in the derby. Thank you gentlemen for volunteering your time.

First Ride 2009

Posted by ED on January 11, 2009 under Blog | Comments are off for this article

Went out for my first ride today after having a 6 inch snowstorm last night and into the day today. I only saw 2 sleds in the 2 hours I was out, and I broke trail for the first 5 miles, so it was real nice. Rode down to Long Lake but didn't go out onto the lake even though I saw sleds out there yesterday and all the fishing huts are out there now. Trails were smooth even though no one was out before me, so everything must have been pretty packed down the day before. I did ride out on Sebago Cove though and that was fine. Going to try and get out tomorrow, but here are some pictures from today.

Ladies Ride

I had a blast at the ladies ride last Saturday. All 6 of us cruised to Anglo Rouyen Mine, down the winding Lynx Creek, past Sucker River, back to a cabin for treats and visiting. Later, munchies in the town of La Ronge. Have a look at our pictures on the website!
