The first thing I learned about journalism is that it is the responsibility of the author to report on topics in an unbiased manner.  In the few years that I have been reporting on snowmobile races, I have lived by that principle and for the most part, kept my opinions out of my stories.  That [...]

When I think of the Grantsburg World Championship Watercross Race, I think of my most favorite weekend of the year, blazing hot sun, delicious lemonade and the street dances that I love so much.  After this years 34th Annual World Championship Race I’ve added one more thing, or should I say person, to that list.  [...]

Helped out the guys from Ski-Doo & Trackside today with their demo rides. Started out this morning with the trails being quite rough as they didn’t get groomed last night for some reason. Needed to make it a few miles north outta town before we hit decent snow, so the riders could experience the sled handling and characteristics. Through out the day the trails grew progressively worse.  We had a good day with the demo rides even with the rough conditions. Will take a look in the morning to see if I can continue taking them out for demo rides in another direction, but we really need to cool off and get us some snow NOW!!!

The first 6 pics below are from trail 3N, out of Eagle River, they were all taken within about 2 minutes of time  in just over a mile of trail.
The last ride of the day one of the locals on the ride invited us to his property to play in the untouched snow. (last 2 pictures) what a pleasure after being getting beat up in what seemed like a snow cross endurance test today.

I received a call yesterday morning to take out the guys from Ski-Doo to break in the new 800 E-Tec demo fleet, so I grabbed my gear and headed over to Trackside to rack up about 200 mile on them. WOW… I was totally impressed with the sled and the new motor. The BRP boys were a blast to hang out with on our ride. We encountered just about every trail condition you can have from crap to pristine… with most being really decent. Big thanks to the boys from BRP and to Trackside for letting me ride yesterday.

If you get a chance to demo one of the new 800 E-Tecs do it.. you won’t be disappointed.
Trackside having Demos this weekend.. Friday & Saturday.

Heres a short video and pics of yesterdays trails..
WE RIDE!!!

The time trials for the Eagle River World Championship have wrapped up, and the man at the top of the list isn’t an ex-champion, but rather a young racer who has been lightning fast this year.      Matt Schulz of Wausau, Wisconsin, posted a 17.813 second qualifying time, besting a field that includes three multi-time champions [...]
