Took a ride up to Conover this morning and seen that the groomers had been out and started pulling the trals back together. These guys do a great job and really can perform magic. I didn’t know what to expect with as bad as they got from Saturdays & Sundays warm up, but I found everything to still be rideable with some sections just great to some being rough, poor/fair. The rail grade 3 going north out of Eagle River will need a few more passes with the groomer to get it completely smooth but they are working on it. So to sum it up, we are still good to go, not the greatest but OK. Also I did not see one other sled out there… Traffic light! Now.. LET IT SNOW!!!

Helped out the guys from Ski-Doo & Trackside today with their demo rides. Started out this morning with the trails being quite rough as they didn’t get groomed last night for some reason. Needed to make it a few miles north outta town before we hit decent snow, so the riders could experience the sled handling and characteristics. Through out the day the trails grew progressively worse. We had a good day with the demo rides even with the rough conditions. Will take a look in the morning to see if I can continue taking them out for demo rides in another direction, but we really need to cool off and get us some snow NOW!!!
The first 6 pics below are from trail 3N, out of Eagle River, they were all taken within about 2 minutes of time in just over a mile of trail.
The last ride of the day one of the locals on the ride invited us to his property to play in the untouched snow. (last 2 pictures) what a pleasure after being getting beat up in what seemed like a snow cross endurance test today.

I received a call yesterday morning to take out the guys from Ski-Doo to break in the new 800 E-Tec demo fleet, so I grabbed my gear and headed over to Trackside to rack up about 200 mile on them. WOW… I was totally impressed with the sled and the new motor. The BRP boys were a blast to hang out with on our ride. We encountered just about every trail condition you can have from crap to pristine… with most being really decent. Big thanks to the boys from BRP and to Trackside for letting me ride yesterday.
If you get a chance to demo one of the new 800 E-Tecs do it.. you won’t be disappointed.
Trackside having Demos this weekend.. Friday & Saturday.
Heres a short video and pics of yesterdays trails..
WE RIDE!!!

Took a quick spin today on the SnoHawk. Did some work on it and checking out that everythings running good. Got a few inches of snow last nite. Trails were in great shape. Didn’t get any pictures today… so concerned with checking out the SnoHawk and learning how to ride it I forgot to take pictures. Planning on hitting the trails again with the Hawk & Dawn tomorrow.. I’ll remember to take pics this time.. or Dawn will… LOL

Dawn and I took a little ride on Friday trails were EXCELLENT and almost no traffic. Rode Phelps and Eagle River, even trails going into town and in town were GREAT. No bumps at all… nice and smooth… To our surprise they started building the ice castle yesterday.. didn’t think they even had enough ice to start. Nice to see that going up again this year! Not much in snow lately, been getting enough each day to whiten things up. Getting ready to suit up and head out with Pit.. Dawn’s decided after 2 days in a row to sit today out.
WE RIDE!!!

Dawn and I took a little ride today. The trails we rode up here in Phelps were excellent! Took Dawn out to one of my play spots to let her try her hand on a little powder riding before I let her try way up north or out west. She did great for her first day out there. Has been trying to snow a little bit out there, but doubt it will be no more than a dusting. Gonna try to get some more riding in with Dawn this week. I think Dawn got a new appreciation for how much energy it takes to play off trail today… not that she complained.. just got winded a few times.. LOL. Lets hope she can move to ride tomorrow.

I took out Glynrd, ScottX, WillyMay, MoRich, JimmyD, SteveO & Luke. We headed out 10E… it was ROUGH..didn’t look like it was groomed in awhile. Then when we hit where Three Lakes start grooming it got WORSE!!!. We put up with it til we hit 6 towards Alvin and we found GREAT trails as we headed to Tippler. The trails were as good as it gets til we rounded a curve right into a huge tree laying across the trail.. the OMG!!! Both Scott & I slide into it.. but no damage (besides a few scratches on Dawns sled..) to the sleds or riders. After regrouping we managed the fallen tree off the trail and stopped at the White Tail for fuel & food. From there we headed home thru Phelps with decent trails except by Brule Tap.
Today I thank that guardian angel that rests upon my shoulder!! … and tomorrow
WE RIDE!!!

JimmyD, Luke, SteveO, ScottX, WillyMay and myself rode up to LandO … after a few attempts… Trails were AWESOME. There were a few rougher spots but there was a cushion of soft looser snow on top that made for some of the funnest riding trails I’ve had in a few years. Tomorrow I think we will head away from the holiday traffic and hit some areas I haven’t seen this year.
WE RIDE!!!

Late start today. I hooked up with my buddy Josh - with his new sled he picked up today and 4 others. We rode up to Phelps. Dave hooked one of his carbides so we stopped by Jimmy Thompsons shop to get him fixed up and back to Eagle River. Some stretches were AWESOME and some rough. Hopefully they will have the groomers out in full force tonite cause the rough areas really need it. All in all the trails are pretty good for Christmas week and traffic seems overall pretty light. Going out riding tomorrow with Steve, JimmyD and Luke. I rode the M8 today which is a little rough on the trails, gonna take out the IQ tomorrow which will be a little forgiving for this ole body..

No riding for us yesterday or today… Celebrating Christmas with the kids! Had all 4 kids home for the holidays yesterday and had a wonderful day. Two made it back home last night before the storm broke.
As of 10am we have 6″ of beautiful white heavy snow! Which will make for some sweet trail conditions tomorrow…
Will update snow fall totals as it continues… Til then…
Wishing everyone a Very Merry White Christmas!!
Doing the snow dance!
